Quality Over Quantity —
Founded in 2013 by Kevin and Yuliya Mattei, YK Gallery, Inc., the parent company of Investing in History, is committed to providing “investment grade” fine art photography to their clients. YK Galley’s cliental, value “quality” over quantity as the Gallery only publishes and sells first edition (first and only printings) of rare and important photography by the world’s most influential and notable photographers. YK Gallery’s clients never worry about mass reproduction. Once a single printing is completed, the negative/transparency is marked for non-reproduction and donated to a museum archive never to be printed again. What differentiates YK Gallery from its competitors is their ideology that collectibles are something much more than keepsakes; they are short and long term investments. As such, each of YK Gallery clients are referred to as “investor-collectors”. As governments tax incomes on bonds and equities while near-zero interest rates, inflation, and currency devaluation pose a continued threat to investors and savers alike, investing in fine art photography has proven to be a safe haven for YK Gallery’s cliental. Even at the lowest point of the recession, art was still averaging a healthy 8% per annum return on investment. YK Gallery’s cliental, however have showed that the number today is between 14-18%.
